LAKE ARTHUR — A Lake Arthur police officer has been placed on paid administrative leave following an officer-involved shooting that left a local man injured early Sunday.

The victim, Arthur Guillory is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries at an area hospital Monday after being shot in the abdomen by the police officer, Police Chief Cheryl Vincent said.

The shooting is under investigation by State Police, which is standard procedure in an officer-involved shooting, Vincent said.

The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. Sunday as police were responding to a domestic disturbance call at a residence in the 600 block of Iowa Street.
