OBERLIN — A 23-year-old Oberlin man is facing distribution of child pornography charges, state police said.

James Horce Deculus Jr. was arrested Wednesday following a search of his residence, Sgt. James Anderson said.

The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Homeland Security investigators jointly conducted a search of Deculus’ residence.

Anderson said investigators found evidence that Deculus was downloading and distributing child pornography images via the internet.

The warrant was obtained as part of an Operation Child Watch investigation initiated by state police detectives involving the possession, manufacture and distribution of child pornography.

Deculus was arrested booked into the Allen Parish Jail.

If convicted, Deculus faces up to 20 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. In addition, personal property used in the offense is subject to seizure and public sale or auction by the district attorney.
