A 28-year-old Moss Bluff man has been charged with fourth-offense DWI, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Mark A. Bearby, 1463 Tan Tara Circle, was arrested Saturday.

“Deputies were dispatched to a store parking lot on La. 14 in reference to a complainant about a possible drunk driver who was swerving all over the road,” Myers said Monday in a news release. “Bearby was found in his car with his foot on the brake and the car in gear. Bearby, who was going in and out of consciousness, advised the deputy that he had consumed prescription pills earlier in the day, for which he had no prescription.”

Myers said Bearby, who has had three DWI arrests since 2005, was given a $40,000 bond by Judge Clayton Davis.

Cpl. Chris Duhon was the arresting deputy.
