Members of theft ring arraigned in state district court

Several alleged members of a theft ring were arraigned in state district court Monday.

St.; Phenique Rashad Johnson, 21, 3233 Cottages Drive; Trevyon Devonta

Humphrey, 17,

2029 See St.; Jacquez Dvont’e Humphrey, 18, 686 Dixie Drive; and

Deidrick Jerron Garlow, 34, 2075 Geiffers St., all pled not

guilty to armed robbery charges.

A co-defendant, Tamara Brown, 21, was arraigned earlier this month, Holly Carter, district attorney spokeswoman, said.

Trial dates of Jan. 27, 2014, have been set for the co-defendants.

A seventh suspect, Ashley Chapman, 21, has not been arrested.

Authorities said the group used a social networking site to lure a victim and rob him at gunpoint on April 3.

The group is suspected in at least four robberies, Carter said.

Two other people were arraigned Monday on attempted armed robbery charges.

Alexander Amos Schlessinger, 19, 3514 E. Roosevelt St., and Blake D. Simien, 19, 8559 Gulf Hwy. Apt. 210, both pleaded not

guilty to attempted armed robbery.

The two are accused of attempting to rob the Family Dollar store on 3rd Avenue.
