LAFAYETTE (AP) — A Leesville man who pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography and illegally trafficking in wildlife
has been sentenced to five years in prison.
U.S. District Judge Richard Haik also on Monday sentenced 36-year-old Emerson Austin to 10 years of supervised release after
his prison term.
Federal prosecutors say investigators were searching Austin's home in 2009 for evidence related to his possession of eagle
feathers when they found child pornography on his computer.
They also seized feathers from 15 different migratory birds. Prosecutors say Austin sold the feathers over the Internet.
