Leesville man killed in single-vehicle crash

LEESVILLE — A 30-year-old Leesville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night.

Louisiana State Police said Jesse Hicks was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected during the crash.

Troopers said they responded to the crash around 8:25 p.m. on La. 8 west of Slagle. They said Hick was driving a 2000 Pontiac

eastbound on La. 8 when he lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.

Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police Troop E has investigated four crashes in 2014, resulting in five fatalities.
