A 37-year-old Lake Charles man has been arrested after the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force allegedly discovered a laundry list of drugs in his home, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Kenneth R. Chieves, 1506 13th St., was arrested Tuesday after the CAT Team executed a search warrant at his home.
“During the search, detectives located approximately 48 grams of methamphetamine, 3 grams of powder cocaine, 6 grams of crack cocaine,and several small bags of marijuana,” Myers said Wednesday in a news release. “Detectives also located a .40 caliber handgun, along with over $1,600 cash.”
Myers said Chieves, on parole for a previous drug conviction, has been charged with marijuana possession, cocaine possession with intent to distribute, crack possession with intent to distribute, methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the presence of a drug and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was also charged with meth distribution in connection with a separate case.
Judge David Ritchie has set Chieves’ bond at $705,000.
