A Lake Charles defense lawyer has been honored for his work as a public defender.
King Alexander was awarded the Public Defender Gideon Award by the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Alexander has worked as a public defender for seven years and has headed the LACDL’s Amicus Committee for six years.
A DeQuincy native and LSU graduate, Alexander practiced civil litigation for insurance defense firms for 15 years before entering indigent defense, he said. He handles life without
parole cases for the Calcasieu Parish Public Defender’s Office.
