Jury selection began Monday for a man accused of murdering his cousin.

Eric Jon Bello, 41, is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting of 32-year-old Pauline Bryant in 2008.

Bello and Bryant reportedly lived in the same home, at 2265 Birdnest Road in Gillis, at the time of her death.

Because Bello’s murder trial began, another murder trial was continued until June.

Attorney Michael McHale represents Bello and David “Dice” Fontenot, whose second-degree murder trial was continued to June

17.

Holly Carter, district attorney spokeswoman, confirmed that the continuance was granted because of the conflict.

Fontenot, 22, is also charged with attempted second-degree murder and solicitation for murder.

Fontenot is accused of shooting and killing Stephin Bergeron, 20, on La. 27 on April 13, 2011.
