JENNINGS — Two Jennings men were arrested on multiple charges after they threw a Molotov cocktail at a home Monday night,

authorities said.

Kristopher Watkins, 18, and Leslie I. Baker Jr., 17, were charged with aggravated arson, conspiracy to commit simple arson

and manufacturing of a delayed-action incendiary device.

They were booked into the city jail without bond and were transferred to the parish jail Tuesday, Police Chief Todd D’Albor

“We received a call at 8:15 p.m. Monday that what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail had been thrown at a residence on Roberta Avenue,” he said.

“There were two people in the house when the incendiary device was being thrown. There was also potential for the house to catch fire, and it could have led to fatal actions.”

Bricks had been thrown through a window at the same residence on two previous occasions, D’Albor said.

Watkins and Barker will face charges in those incidents, D’Albor said.

Authorities are also investigating threatening text messages sent from a device police have linked to one of the men.

Watkins was involved in a vandalism case in Lafayette involving a family member of the Roberta Avenue residents, neither of

whom was harmed in Monday’s incident, D’Albor said.
