MINDEN (AP) — A Webster Parish mother whose infant son died from being shaken has been indicted on a charge of first-degree murder.
The Times reports (http://bit.ly/143PMP1) 19-year-old Brittany Tyson has been in custody since Aug. 5 after Webster Parish sheriff's investigators say she admitted to shaking her son, Riley Tyson, to get him to stop crying.
District Attorney Schuyler Marvin said Monday an autopsy of the 4-month-old revealed hemorrhaging at the base of his spine, an indicator of being shaken.
Tyson and baby were staying with friends at a Sibley apartment complex when the incident happened.
Marvin says Tyson will be arraigned on Sept. 9.
It was unclear whether she has an attorney.
