MARRERO (AP) — The Jefferson Parish
Sheriff's Office says a 15-year-old student was hospitalized with stab
wounds and a 17-year-old
was arrested after a fight at John Ehret High School in Marrero.
A release from Sheriff Newell Normand said
Detective Brian Johnson was notified of the altercation by a teacher.
The fight
followed an ongoing disagreement between the two girls. The news
release said that the 17-year-old told Johnson that she was
approached by the younger girl Monday morning outside the school
cafeteria. An argument broke out. The older girl is alleged
to have taken a pair of scissors from her book bag and stabbed the
younger girl.
The older girl was booked with aggravated battery and illegal carrying of a concealed weapon. The 15-year-old was reported
in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
