FRANLINTON (AP) — A pre-dawn gas line explosion has shaken residents out of their beds in a rural area of Washington Parish near the community of Enon.
Sheriff Randy Seal says there were no injuries from the blowout, which occurred around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The gas line is located off Lee Road and La. 1027.
Seal says the fire was extinguished when crews from Florida Gas, the owners of the pipeline, shut off the gas.
The sheriff said one home was damaged by heat from the fire.
Seals said several families living near the blast were asked to leave their home just a precaution.
The cause of the exposition is under investigation.
