LC man gets 4th-offense DUI

A man arrested for a DUI Saturday morning has been arrested five times since 2006, authorities said.

Jorge Luis Castillo, 30, 1330 W. McNeese St. No. 7216, was arrested just after 5 a.m. and charged with a fourth-offense DUI

after deputies saw him crossing the center line, said Cmdr. James McGee, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Because Castillo originally refused to provide a breath sample, the Sheriff’s Office obtained a no-refusal warrant for a blood

sample, McGee said.

“We use those on severe cases,” McGee said.

Castillo then provided a breath sample, which was over the legal limit of .08 percent, the commander said.

Castillo was arrested at the corner of Nelson and Thorn roads.

All previous arrests of Castillo, who was arrested three times in 2012, were in Texas, McGee said.

Castillo was released from Calcasieu Correctional Center at 9:17 a.m. Sunday after posting a $40,500 bond. Castillo was also

charged for crossing the center line.
