CAMERON (AP) — A DeRidder man has been arrested on charges he stole crab traps from a fisherman in Calcasieu Lake.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said 38-year-old Robby Joe Wiley was booked into the Cameron Parish jail following his arrest last Friday.

The department said its agents seized 46 crab traps along with Wiley’s boat during their investigation.

Wiley is accused of replacing the fisherman’s lines and corks attached to the crab traps with his own. The department said Wiley didn’t have his own commercial fishing license and was using somebody else’s.
