A 20-year-old Sulphur man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder after an early morning shooting, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Bryan D. Dyson, 3705 Newcastle Drive, was arrested Wednesday after an incident at a home at 451 Mid Road in DeQuincy.

Myers said the victim was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

“The motive for the shooting is not known at this time,” Myers said.

Dyson was also charged with aggravated criminal damage to property.
