CyPhaCon to take place April 19-21

CyPhaCon, an annual anime, gaming and science fiction convention, will be 6 p.m.-midnight April 19, 9 a.m.-midnight April

20 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 21 on the Lake Charles Civic Center’s first-floor exhibition hall.

Guests will include voice-actor Kyle Hebert; local comic artist Danny Allian; authors Rob Cerio and Michael Moreau; musical

entertainers The Suzaku 7; and performing group Orions Envy.

Returning guests and groups are The

Bedlam Bards; The Austin Browncoats; Johnny and Jacqueline Segura;

Mechcorps Entertainment;

Bast Alpha Garrison; Degobah Base; Red Stick Rebellion; U.S.S.

Lafitte; Hunters Den; D20 Girls; Amptgard; Bayou Paranormal;

and the USS Orleck.

New groups and entertainers are Louisiana StarGators; Louisiana Cosplayers; Alaska’s Cosplay; Teh Princess Cosplay; Awkward

Cosplay Girl; Arylon; Minds Eye Society; Airship Horizons; Carnival Epsilon; and Mediocre Year Industries.

Hal MacMillian will host a charity auction, with proceeds benefitting the Louisiana chapter of the Autism Society.

Advance membership passes are on sale

at Paper Heroes until April 16. Passes are $10 for Friday, April 19; $20

for Saturday,

April 20; and $15 for Sunday, April 15. Weekend passes are $25.

Admission for children ages 7-13 is $5; children under 7 are

admitted free.
