A 45-year-old Lake Charles man is facing five counts of attempted second-degree murder in connection with a Sept. 9 shooting on Orange Street, city police said.

Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said Burnell Turner, 1108 Sage Drive, was arrested Tuesday.

Kraus said Turner pulled a gun following an argument and fired numerous shots.

“Turner missed his intended target and struck one of the four individuals that were standing behind the intended victim,” Kraus said in a news release on Wednesday. “The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.”

Turner’s bond was set at $1,000,000.

Kraus said if anyone has information on the incident is asked to contact Det. Lecia McCullough at 337-491-1311.

Tuesday night shooting may have been self-inflicted
