A Kinder man was charged with forcible rape after he forced a woman into a room at a residence and sexually assaulted her, authorities said.
Jacob Kade Williams, 39, was arrested Wednesday after being released from Jennings American Legion Hospital, where he had been taken after he was injured in a fight with a relative of the victim, said Christopher Ivey, Jeff Davis Parish sheriff’s criminal investigations division commander.
The incident occurred at a residence on Barnes Creek Road, Ivey said.
Four Sulphur residents are facing numerous drug charges after being arrested at a home on Gaylynn Street Tuesday afternoon.
According to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center, 42-year-old Jason Anthony Chapman, 31-year-old Rachel Lynn McBroom, 32-year-old Lakeisha Jones and 26-year-old Adrienne Lome Chapman have been charged with drug possession, three counts of drug use in presence of minors and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jason Chapman, 2412 Gaylynn St., was also charged with direct contempt of court.
All four remained in jail Wednesday.
A 40-year-old Crowley man has been charged with marijuana possession with intent to distribute, aggravated flight from an officer and resisting an officer.
According to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Ronald Wayne Ross was arrested Thursday by the Sulphur Police Department.
Ross, 823 W. Northern Ave., remained in jail Wednesday on a $305,000 bond.
City police will conduct a DWI checkpoint beginning Thursday night.
Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said the checkpoint will run through Friday morning and will be “at an undisclosed location in Lake Charles.”
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:
• Diana Duff Jeanisse, 29, 2612 Demarest St. — two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute. Bond: $60,000.
• Ronald Alen Brock, 18, 24125 Pitre Road, Welsh — two counts of simple burglary. Bond: $10,000.
• Joseph Harrison Mott II, 43, 201 W. Mimosa St., Sulphur — simple burglary, theft over $500, criminal damage to coin-operated devices.
