Tech.
Coach Brooks Donald Williams said she thinks the layoff will serve the Cowgirls well.
“Practice has been really good for us,” Donald Williams said. “We were able to work on some things we needed to work on earlier
in the season but just didn’t have the practice time.”
McNeese (4-3) is coming off a 60-51 loss at Rice in which the Owls came from behind as the Cowgirls went cold from the field
in the final 7 minutes.
“Coming off the Rice loss, we’re disappointed in some of the things we could have done to keep our lead,” Donald Williams
said. “Exams are over and we’re able to focus on basketball for a little while. It’s a fun time of the season.”
The Lady Techsters (2-5) have struggled but have a 65-63 win over McNeese’s Southland rival, Central Arkansas.
“It will be a good measuring stick,”
Donald Williams said. “But basketball’s all about matchups. The way UCA
matches up against
us may be different than how they match up against Tech. But we’re
not as concerned about that as playing our best basketball.”
