Cowgirls softball to host Lamar this weekend

McNeese State will host Lamar in a three-game Southland Conference series in its home finale.
The series begins with a 2 p.m. Saturday doubleheader followed by a 1 p.m. Sunday game.
The Cowgirls (32-11, 13-3 SLC), first place in the conference, have won 19 of their last 23 games and have won five of six SLC series, including three series sweeps.
Freshman Emily Vincent (.374, 9 HRs, 39 RBIs) enters the weekend on a 12-game hitting streak. Also batting over .300 is junior Alanna DiVittorio (.349) and Lauren Langner (.336).
Pitchers Meagan Bond (15-4, 1.24 ERA) has thrown four shutouts and has 143 strikeouts. Jamie Allred (15-4, 1.99) has two shutouts and 118 strikeouts.
Lamar (21-26, 11-7) is led by Candyce Carter (.360, 9 HRs).
