Fans will get their first chance to see the two-time defending Southland Conference women’s tournament champions play this

season in tonight’s free 7 p.m. exhibition game at Burton Coliseum.

McNeese State faces NAIA opponent Wiley College to tip off a season the Cowgirls hope to turn into another NCAA tournament

appearance.

The starting backcourt will look familiar with Ashlyn and Caitlyn Baggett leading the way for their senior seasons. But, there

are plenty of new faces in the mix.

One of them is their younger sister, Allison, who will play with her sisters for the first time.

The Cowgirls will also be searching for

replacements for last season’s top rebounders, Kendra Wells and Martika

Hull. There

will be no shortage of potential candidates — six players on this

year’s team are at least 6-feet tall, including newcomers

Charity Robinson, Cecilia Okoye and Jasmine Prophet.

McNeese’s regular-season debut is Nov. 10 at Vanderbilt. The regular-season home opener will be Nov. 17 against Texas Southern.
