Cowgirls host Cougars; Cowboys travel to play Rebels

The McNeese State women’s basketball team will

host Houston today in a 7 p.m. nonconference game. Fans are asked to bring canned

goods to be donated

to Abraham’s Tent for Thanksgiving. Individuals bringing canned

goods will receive a voucher which will be good for free admission

at a future game.

The Cowgirls (1-1) are led in scoring by senior twins Caitlyn and Ashlyn Baggett. Caitlyn leads the Cowgirls with 20.5 points

and 4.0 assists per game. She shoots 52.2 from the field and 57.1 on 3-pointers. Ashlyn averages 11.5 ppg.

Senior Adrienne Minor and junior Cecilia Okoye lead the Cowgirls in rebounding at 7.5 per contest.

Minor has a team-high 10 defensive rebounds while Okoye has a team-high 10 offensive rebounds. Okoye had a double-double against

Texas Southern, scoring 12 points and grabbing a game-high 15 boards.

Houston (0-3) will be playing its third road game of the season after road losses at Mississippi State and Yale. The

Cougars dropped their only home game of the season to Alabama.

Cowboys hit road to battle Ole Miss

The McNeese men’s basketball team closes its three-game road swing today when it faces its second SEC opponent in the last three games,

Ole Miss.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Tad Smith Coliseum. 1470 AM KLCL is carrying a live radio broadcast beginning at 6:50.

McNeese (1-2) dropped its first two games on this trip — 73-48 at LSU last Tuesday and 64-53 at Southeast Missouri State last


Ole Miss (3-0) dominated Arkansas-Little Rock last Friday by a 92-52 margin.

Senior guard Dontae Cannon leads the

Cowboys in scoring averaging 13 points while sophomore guard Kevin Hardy

is knocking

in 12.3 per game. Hardy sank a career-best 18 points at LSU while

Cannon is coming off a 10-point performance against SEMO.
