Calcasieu Parish schools updated their websites

The 57 schools in the Calcasieu Parish school district have updated their websites.

In an effort to achieve greater consistency, each website will now use an identical format to the CPSB homepage, which will incorporate the school logo and colors. Navigation has been streamlined and simplified in order to make information more accessible to all users.

Each school’s homepage features four main areas of information, which will vary slightly across sites. The main toolbar will contain links to school contacts, faculty, general information and calendars. Quick Links, located on the left side of the page, will display a combination of pertinent information from the school and district. Headlines, features and upcoming events will be regularly updated with important dates and news about the school.

Converting nearly 60 websites to the new design was no easy task for Lisa Mullett, a technology facilitator for the Calcasieu Parish School Board. After a complete overhaul of the district’s main website in August, Mullett began work building the navigation structure and branding for each site, and then provided training for school webmasters on the new operation of the sites.

“The school webmasters have been working hard to add rich content to their sites in an effort to communicate more efficiently,” Mullett said. “The content aligns with our district’s goal of sharing as much information as possible with our stakeholders.”
