SHREVEPORT (AP) — A Shreveport school employee faces criminal charges following an alleged assault of a juvenile.
The Times reported 29-year-old Kasunda Barfield Daniels was booked Tuesday with simple battery after she allegedly hit a student at a local elementary school.
Daniels worked at Westwood Elementary School as the in school suspension coordinator.
Police say Daniels allegedly slapped the 11-year-old student while monitoring students in the cafeteria.
Daniels was issued a summons for simple battery.
The child, who suffered no injury, was released to a parent.
The school system is also investigating the incident.
