Shreveport school employee receives summons for battery

SHREVEPORT (AP) — A Shreveport school employee faces criminal charges following an alleged assault of a juvenile.

The Times reported 29-year-old Kasunda Barfield Daniels was booked Tuesday with simple battery after she allegedly hit a student at a local elementary school.

Daniels worked at Westwood Elementary School as the in school suspension coordinator.

Police say Daniels allegedly slapped the 11-year-old student while monitoring students in the cafeteria.
