A 40-year-old Texas man has been charged with marijuana and cocaine possession after a traffic stop on Interstate 10 near Sulphur.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Bryant E. Comeaux was stopped Tuesday night while driving east between Sulphur and Vinton.

“Combined Anti-Drug Task Force Detective Sgt. Stuart Henderson conducted a stop on a car for a traffic violation,” Myers said Friday in a news release. “During the traffic stop, Comeaux began to act suspiciously.

“Sgt. Henderson recovered three plastic wrapped bundles of marijuana, weighing over 30 pounds, and three plastic bags of suspected cocaine. Henderson also found a digital scale, smoking device and rolling papers. The drugs have a street value of approximately $65,000.”

Myers said Comeaux’s bond is pending.
