By From staff reports

Authorities arrested a 43-year-old Sulphur man who allegedly fired two rounds from his vehicle Sunday night in Carlyss.

David Lee Butts, 6602 Oak Lake Drive, has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.

After a shouting match with another man, Butts got in his vehicle and allegedly fired two rounds "at no one in particular," said Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers.

Myers said Butts then drove a ways down the road, got out of his vehicle and went into the woods.

Butts was arrested around 8 p.m., Myers said

Numerous Facebook readers who are also Carlyss residents said they received a call from the Sheriff's Office warning about an armed 42- to 43-year-old white male wearing a T-shirt and jeans. The readers said they were warned to not approach and call 911 as the man was considered armed and dangerous.
