Fenton man arrested for computer solicitation

By Special to the American Press

The Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Fenton man, accusing him of computer-aided solicitation of a minor, indecent behavior with a juvenile and production of child pornography.

Desmond Alfred, 17, was charged following an investigation that began in Nebraska and ended at his home at 410 Fourth St., Fenton. In a prepared statement, the Jefferson Davis Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division said the father of a 12-year-old girl in Bellevue, Neb. complained to authorities there in December about inappropriate text messages and pictures sent to his child. Bellevue police launched an investigation into the communications, which they determined came from Jefferson Parish. Deputies in Jefferson Davis determined that the messages came from Alfred, who they say had been in contact with the child since June.

Jefferson Davis detectives executed a search warrant at Alfred’s home on Wednesday and arrested him.

He remained in the parish jail Thursday, with no bond set.
