Port Arthur woman indicted on vehicular homicide charge

A 74-year-old Texas woman was indicted Thursday on a charge of vehicular homicide.

A grand jury in 14th Judicial District Court returned a true bill against Millie Adams Francis Powell for the March 1 death of Rubye McGown Jones, 92.

Powell had a blood-alcohol limit above the legal limit, according to the indictment.

Powell, of Port Arthur, Texas, was traveling north on La. 109 when she rear-ended a vehicle which was waiting to turn into a private driveway.

Other Indictments

Micah Paul Woodward, 30, 1733 N. Michael Square, was indicted on a charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

Woodward is accused of using social media to contact a 14-year-old boy, then performing oral sex on the boy at the North Beach parking lot.

Desmond Lamont LaFleur, 19, was indicted on a charge of forcible rape. LaFleur is accused of raping a 19-year-old woman on March 19.

Michael Eric Richard, 35, was indicted on one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile for an incident on Feb. 5.

Josha Lemelle Peltier, 20, was indicted on a charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Peltier is accused in “three separate occasions” involving a 15-year-old.””
