BATON ROUGE (AP) — Louisiana State Police have identified the driver of a pickup truck who apparently lost control, crashed and died Friday night.

Trooper First Class Jared Sandifer says in a news release that 28-year-old Matthew J. Tucker of Pineville, died in the 8:30 p.m. accident.

Sandifer says Tucker was westbound when his 2005 Ford pickup drifted off the road to the right. He says Tucker overcorrected to the left, crossed both lanes and veered off the road into a ditch and some trees.

Tucker was pronounced dead at the scene.
