A man on probation for his role in a 2011 murder along La. 27 in Carlyss was arrested for becoming physical with a woman during an argument over Facebook posts, according to police reports.

Devin Blake Badon, 22, was arrested on a misdemeanor count of simple battery. He is accused of picking the woman up by her neck at a home on Vincent Lane on Jan. 4, according to the initial report.

In June 2012, Badon pleaded guilty to negligent homicide in connection with the 2011 fatal drive-by shooting of Stephin W. Bergeron, 20. Prosecutors said Badon provided a gun and bullets, but David Caleb Fontenot, 24, pulled the trigger. Fontenot was convicted of second-degree murder in March and is currently serving a life sentence.

Badon was sentenced in September 2012 to seven years in prison, with two years suspended, and five years probation. Badon, who was given credit for time served, was imprisoned from April 2011 until December 2013, at which time he was released because of good-time parole supervision. He is currently on parole supervision and probation supervision until April 2019.

Whether his latest arrest will affect his probation or parole will be up to his parole officer and judge, Department of Corrections spokeswoman Pam LaBorde said in an email.””
