The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has a person of interest in custody related to a homicide reported Sunday at a mobile home park in south Lake Charles.

The person of interest, whose name hasn’t been released, is incarcerated on unrelated charges, said Sheriff Tony Mancuso.

“He is not cooperating with the investigation,” Mancuso said by phone Monday. “We have not made another arrest at this time.”

The homicide occurred at Lot 418 of Quailridge Mobile Estate Park, at 2187 Gauthier Road. The body found inside was identified as that of 38-year-old Raymona Lisa Gilmore.

Family members found the body at about 3 p.m. Sunday and called 911.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Monday that Gilmore was “fatally wounded,” but the exact cause or time of death has not been released.

As of Monday, officials were still at the scene. The entry to the mobile home is boarded up by police with the words “Do Not Enter” spray-painted at the entrance. Two deputies were parked out front with the crime scene investigation trailer still parked at the location.

“We still have a lot of evidence to process,” Mancuso said. “That is what may take some time. I know people want us to make an arrest.”

He said officials have interviewed several witnesses.

The mobile home park manager, who said she did not want her name published, said there was no surveillance footage of Gilmore’s home to give to officials. She said Gilmore lived there with her two daughters.

Anyone with information on Gilmore or the slaying can call Crime Stoppers at 439-2222 or sheriff’s deputies at 491-3605.

This is the first homicide in 2012 to take place out of city limits in Calcasieu Parish.
