One arrested, search continues for second sex-trafficking suspect

LAFAYETTE (AP) — A man suspected of promoting child sex-trafficking has surrendered to Louisiana State Police.

Trooper 1st Class Stephen Hammons, a state police spokesman, says 19-year-old Alcoby Con LaSalle, of Lafaytte, turned himself in Wednesday. He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correction Center on counts of trafficking children for sexual purposes and promoting prostitution.

It was not immediately known if LaSalle has an attorney. Bond information was not available.

The Advocate reports state police are still looking for 22-year-old Darneesha Lashay Martin, also of Lafayette, who is wanted on the same charges.
