Oberlin woman swerves off curve, dies from crash

OBERLIN — State police say a 72-year-old Oberlin woman has died in a single-vehicle accident on La. 26 in Allen Parish. Sgt. James Anderson says Emily Adams was pronounced dead at the scene Sunday night.
Trooper said a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Adams was traveling west when the vehicle entered a curve and drifted off the roadway. Adams overcorrected, crossed the center line and crashed into a ditch. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allen Parish Coroner’s Office.
A routine toxicology sample was obtained from Adams for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
Troop D has investigated seven fatal crashes resulting in seven deaths this year.
