Work-release escapee caught in Denham Springs

CLINTON (AP) — East Feliciana Parish sheriff’s deputies say a state prison inmate who escaped from a work-release job site Monday has been captured in Denham Springs.

Sheriff’s Detective Don McKey told The Advocate the U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force arrested 21-year-old Glen R. Carroll III and his girlfriend, 20-yeaer-old Kristina Miller, about 6 a.m. Thursday at the Village Inn Motel on U.S. 190.

Deputies booked Carroll on a felony count of simple escape. Miller was booked with principal to simple escape.

McKey said Miller admitted picking up Carroll from his work site near Amite on Monday and driving him to Livingston Parish.

Carroll was serving a two-year sentence for aggravated second-degree battery and was eligible for release in January 2014.

It was unclear whether Miller has an attorney.
