GONZALES (AP) — Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Violet couple in two diesel thefts.

Maj. Kevin Hanna tells the Advocate 32-year-old Brandon Angelety and 30-year-old Jairomeora Angelety are accused of stealing nearly 500 gallons of diesel on May 29 from the Purpera Super Stop gas station as well as trying to steal diesel Tuesday from the Chevron Dutchtown Market in Gesimar.

Hanna says video surveillance captured the suspects filling their van and a 55 gallon drum with diesel on May 29.
