Clothing retailer The Perfect Fit will present the fashion show “Art of Fashion Design IV: Coast to Coast” on Thursday, Oct. 17, in the L’Auberge events center. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

The show will feature couture fashion designers Rina diMontella of New York and Lourdes Chavez of Los Angeles. Styles will include day wear, evening wear, cocktail wear and bridal couture by diMontella.

“This gives our ticket holders an opportunity to see what’s currently showing on the runways of New York and the runways of Los Angeles,” said Susan Reed, executive director of the Imperial Calcasieu Museum.

“Both designers have signature looks. Rina is no sleeve, cocktail. Her bridal wear is stunning. They have two different looks that we’re showing. The West Coast is a little more relaxed.

“Lourdes Chavez’s fabrics are amazing, really beautiful. Some look as if you could cut them out, frame it and hang them on the wall.”

Chavez — who will be at the event — designed former “Entertainment Tonight” correspondent Mary Hart’s dress for her coverage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding.

DiMontella, involved in New York Bridal Fashion Week, will be represented by her head designer. Her bridal fashions were recently featured on “David Tutera Unveiled” on WE tv.

Though the designs are couture, the female models will range in size and in age, with the youngest being 16 and oldest in their 40s. Celebrity models will include Nomica Guillory, Mrs. Louisiana-America 2006, and Lori Schultheis Adams, Miss Plus Louisiana 2008.

Ticket holders will be served complimentary hors d’oeuvres and wine 6-7 p.m.; the show will be at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the fashion show will benefit the Imperial Calcasieu Museum.

Tickets are $35 and are available at The Perfect Fit, Gordon’s Drug Store, PaperSmith and the museum. Seating is limited.
