TULSA, Okla. — Home runs by Joey Migliaccio and Chris Williams helped lift the Oral Roberts to a 7-2 victory over McNeese State on Saturday.

Freshman Guillermo Trujillo (2-0) earned his second victory of the season out of the bullpen after he replaced Drew Bowen following a weather delay. Trujillo threw 313 innings with six hits and allowed one run to score, while Bowen finished three innings, gave up two hits and an earned run.

Kurt Giller replaced Trujillo in the top of the seventh and allowed one hit in the final 223 innings.

Reliever Tyler Parke (3-2) was charged with the loss after giving up four runs — three earned — on five hits in 213 innings of work.

Both Cowboys (21-27, 8-15 Southland) runs were solo home runs, one by Andrew Guillotte, who was 2-for-5, and Lucas Quary. Chayse Marion and Michael Sullivan had two hits apiece.

Migliaccio and Logan Domenico had two hits and two RBIs apiece, and Tyler Boss chipped in two hits for the Golden Eagles (21-27, 14-9).

The rubber game of the series begins at 1 p.m. today.

The Cowboys got on the board first on Guillote’s lead-off homer in the first inning, his first of the season.

ORU tied the score with an unearned run in the third inning, when thunderstorms forced an 87-minute delay.

After both teams took the field to restart the game, Parke came in to relieve Blake Ware. With bases loaded and two outs, Parke was able to strike out the batter and get the Cowboys out of a jam.

McNeese regained the lead in the fourth inning on Quary’s first homer of the season, over the center-field wall.

The Golden Eagles responded with two-run Migliaccio homer down the right-field line to take a 3-2 lead.

A two-run single by Domencio extended ORU’s lead to a 5-2 the sixth inning. Williams’ two-run home run in the seventh inning extended the lead 7-2.””msu-logo-11-27-13
