NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Authorities say one person was killed in an accident involving a charter bus and a car on Interstate 10 in a marshy area of eastern New Orleans.

The Thursday morning accident prompted the closure of I-10’s westbound lanes.

Video on the WWL-TV website shows the bus, upright and partly obscured by trees in a swampy area just off the interstate. What appears to be the wreckage of a car also is visible.

Police have not released details on the accident or the identity of the person killed.

The Northwest Florida Daily News reported the bus was carrying Walker Elementary School students to the New Orleans zoo.

Okaloosa County Schools Deputy Superintendent Kaye McKinley says none of the students was hurt and a replacement bus picked them up.
