A Lake Charles man was killed Friday night in a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Opelousas and Orrin streets, city police said.

Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said Cedric Prier died around 11:11 p.m. Friday when he was ejected from the truck he was driving.

“The vehicle was traveling west on Opelousas Street when the driver lost control for an unknown reason,” Kraus said. “The vehicle left the roadway, hit an utility pole, continued west into a vacant lot and then began to roll over.”
