A 27-year-old Jennings man has been charged with aggravated assault and obstruction of justice, authorities said.

Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Chris Ivey said Brock Fontenot, 703 Davis St., was arrested Tuesday night. Ivey said deputies responded to a shooting at home at 16112 La. 26 in Jennings.

“Two subjects arrived at the home and one of them was shot by a resident following an incident,” Ivey said Wednesday in a news release. “The subjects fled in their vehicle. The injured man was dropped off at the Jennings American Legion Hospital and treated for multiple gunshot wounds. Fontenot, the driver, was detained for questioning and then arrested.”

Ivey said additional charges are pending and that Fontenot is being held without bond.
