DONALDSONVILLE (AP) — Mourning for a 6-year-old murder victim continues in southeast Louisiana.

Ahlittia North was stabbed to death after disappearing from her mother’s suburban New Orleans apartment more than a week ago. Her body was found days later.

She was to be buried Monday in Donaldsonville, where her father and stepmother live. Funeral services were being held in Gonzales.

Ahlittia had disappeared after she was put to bed on the night of Friday, July 12. Her body was found in a trash bin near the apartment three days later. Twenty-year-old Matthew Flugence has been booked in her death.
