Founder of local Just for Jesus rallies arrested twice

The founder of the local Just for Jesus rallies was arrested twice within a week’s time.
James Patrick Bertrand, 51, 3945 S. Blue Sage Road, was arrested on drug charges at L’Auberge on Wednesday, April 17, by Calcasieu Parish sheriff’s deputies.
After getting out of jail on $3,000 bond, Bertrand was arrested Monday on more drug charges by Westlake police.
Bertrand has been repeatedly arrested, mostly on drug charges, over the past few months. A bond on his latest charge has not yet been set, and he is jailed in the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
Kim Myers, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said deputies responding to a disturbance on April 17 found drugs in Bertrand’s hotel room. Bertrand was charged with drug possession and simple battery.
The woman in the room with him, Regan Morris, 31, 100 McArthur St., Sulphur, was also charged with drug possession and simple battery.
On Wednesday, Bertrand was arrested at a Laurel Street home where he had gone to retrieve some personal belongings, Westlake Police Chief Michael Dickerson said.
When officers entered the home, drugs were sitting “in plain view,” Dickerson said.
He said that when Bertrand was arrested, drugs were also found in the pocket of his jacket. He was charged with drug possession.
Kelly Ann LeDoux, 1124 Laurel St., was also charged with drug possession.
Bertrand was arrested in January on drug charges, in December on theft charges, and in September on DWI and drug charges in Texas.
Bertrand’s Facebook page lists him as a former pastor.
