A 28-year-old former Lake Charles man has been charged with 10 counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, two counts of obscenity and three counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Thomas L. Breaux was extradited from the Adult Correctional Institute in Cranston, R.I., on Friday.

Bond was set at $850,000.

Myers said Breaux has been accused of having sexual contact with a teenage girl from January 2008 to August 2009.

Breaux was living in Lake Charles with John J. Baccigalopi Jr., 44, and Jennifer M. Baccigalopi, 32, at the time of the alleged incidents.

Myers said was incarcerated in Cranston, R.I., on charges of first-degree child molestation.

The Baccigalopis each pleaded guilty on Jan. 3 to two counts of principal to carnal knowledge of a juvenile and received suspended jail sentences of 10 years and five years’ probation, according to defense attorney King Alexander. They must register as sex offenders for 15 years.

According to court testimony, the alleged incidents occurred under their roof, but neither had sex with the juvenile. Both initially faced numerous sex charges.

The Attorney General’s Office handled the case because of a conflict with the district attorney.
