CLINTON (AP) — East Feliciana Parish sheriff’s deputies are looking for a state prisoner who left his work-release job at a sawmill near Amite.

Chief Deputy Cliff Hurst told The Advocate 21-year-old Glen R. Carroll III, formerly of Broussard, was serving a two-year sentence for aggravated second-degree battery and was eligible for a work-release program when he arrived at the East Feliciana Parish Jail several weeks ago.

Hurst said deputies believe someone picked up Carroll from his job at the Paul Davis Lumber Co. on La. 16 about noon Monday.
