Autopsy released in Lake Arthur death

LAKE ARTHUR – Foul play is not suspected in the death of a Lake Arthur woman whose body was found Jan. 31 in a shallow ditch in Lake Arthur.

An autopsy report released Thursday by authorities said, Lacie V. Fontenot, 27, died from drowning and hypothermia. Temperatures prior to the body being found were were below freezing.

The autopsy also found no evidence of significant injuries to Fontenot’s body.

The autopsy also indicated Fontenot had high levels of illegal controlled substances in her body, but authorities declined to release specifics on the findings.
