The American Press has learned that junior tight end Nic Jacobs will forgo his senior season at McNeese State and enter the NFL draft this spring.
According to sources, Jacobs is currently in Arizona working out and is expected to attend the NFL combine.
All McNeese officials would say is that Jacobs remains in good academic standing with the school.
“He is academically eligible to play,” said Matthew Bonnette, McNeese SID.
Jacobs, who transferred to McNeese last year after spending his first two seasons at LSU, caught 32 passes for 453 yards and four touchdowns for the 10-3 Cowboys.
The 6-foot 5, 260-pound Jacobs received good draft grades from NFL according to sources.
While Jacobs’ name does not appear on any official NFL list, he has until Jan. 15 to do so.
