As construction on the Golden Nugget Casino gets closer to completion, the casino has increased its efforts to find local employees. Grabbing most of the attention are the ongoing career and vendor fairs at the Civic Center. The events will draw hundreds throughout Southwest Louisiana over two days.
The casino’s recent, long-term effort to find employees is at 123 College St. The new Golden Nugget Employment Center opened its doors Thursday.
By Friday, a handful of potential employees were spending their morning filling out applications. Rows of computer stations were set up in the middle of the main room while more lined the walls. The main computers can be used to complete online applications.
The center makes it possible for potential employees to receive prescreening interviews and even get scheduled to interview with the casino’s hiring managers. The center’s staff also assists with new hires’ paperwork and gaming license applications.
“The Golden Nugget Lake Charles is seeking energetic, enthusiastic, service-oriented individuals for hundreds of positions including jobs in Slot Operations, Table Games, Cashier’s Cage, Food and Beverage, Finance, Security, Players Club, Marketing, Hotel Resort, Golf, Facilities, Administration and many more,” reads a news release.
The center is open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
