A 19-year-old Moss Bluff man has been arrested after allegedly taping a boy’s mouth, feet and hands, locking him in the trunk of a car and allowing another juvenile to squirt the victim in the face with a water hose, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Bradley L. Wentzel, 805 Topsy Road Lot No. 32, was arrested June 9 and charged with cruelty to a juvenile.
“Deputies were dispatched after receiving a complaint regarding Wentzel,” Myers said in a news release on Wednesday. “Wentzel taped the hands, feet and mouth of a 12-year-old boy and locked him the trunk of a car for several minutes.
“After removing the victim from the trunk of a car, Wentzel put the victim on the ground and allowed another 12-year-old to squirt the victim in the face with a water hose until he began to choke. The victim’s 9-year-old friend was forced to watch and was threatened with the same abuse if he tried to leave.”
Myers said that Wentzel confirmed the allegations when questioned by deputies.
Judge David Ritchie set Wentzel’s bond at $150,000.
Detective Katherine LeBlanc was the lead investigator.
