Man indicted in rape of 6-year-old

A Sulphur man was indicted Thursday on a charge of raping a 6-year-old.

A grand jury in state district court returned a true bill of aggravated rape against Robert Anthony Moore, 28, of 2807 Mary Ann St.

The incident happened June 14, according to the indictment. Moore was arrested by Sulphur police in July.

He is being held in the Calcasieu Correctional Center on $25,000 bond. The jail roster also lists five counts of molestation of a juvenile that were rejected.

Moore was one of three people indicted Thursday on sex charges.

A Lake Charles man accused of enticing a 15-year-old boy into his home and sexually assaulting him several times over a three-week period was charged with three sex crimes.

Marshall Joseph Ledee Jr., 56, was indicted on three counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, a misdemeanor. Ledee is being held in the CCC on $60,000 bond.

Westlake man Roy Gene Sassin Jr., 33, was indicted on a charge of aggravated incest. The indictment alleges Sassin molested a 5-year-old on May 7, 2013.

Other indictments

DeQuincy man Jon Dalton McCarty, 21, was indicted on charges related to a June 13 incident in which authorities said he tried to kill a 24-year-old man and committed battery on a 21-year-old woman. The grand jury returned charges of attempted second-degree murder and domestic abuse battery.

Florien man Bob Corky Cox, 41, was indicted on charges he held a woman at a local motel against her will in July. He was charged with false imprisonment, simple property damage under $500, hydrocodone possession, domestic abuse battery and second-offense marijuana possession.

He was convicted of marijuana possession on March 14, 1995, according to the indictment.

Lake Charles man Daniel Chemeeks Rodasti, 25, was indicted on charges of attempted armed robbery, attempted armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated second-degree battery, illegal use of weapons and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Police said Rodasti shot a person in the leg while trying to rob him at the intersection of La. 14 and Legion Street on June 14.

Rodasti is being held in the CCC on $300,000 bond.
